Our School Rationale and Vision for the Writing Curriculum
Our aim at St Barnabas’ School is that all children aspire to master a broad range of skills, knowledge and understanding relating to English and Communication.
Our Vision

- Ensuring that the children promote high standards of language and literacy.
- Enabling children to confidently use a variety of writing styles across the curriculum.
- Enabling children to fluently express the ideas of themselves and others through a variety of genres in writing, reading, speaking and listening.
- Ensuring that children understand and use the language of problem solving and to be able to organise and sequence information.
Our Rationale
- Preparing each child for a place in education and society so they can communicate their emotions and ideas to others.

- Providing opportunities for performance to a wider audience.
- Enabling children to use language and communication to address local, national and global issues and provide opportunities for free speech and the expression of opinion.
