St Barnabas’ Primary School, Tunbridge Wells, is a Voluntary Aided Church School, with our ethos and values reflected in a strong Christian tradition.

As a smaller school, we have the privilege of knowing every child really well, from our youngest to the oldest pupil. We greatly value all members of our school community and place our partnership and relationships with families, community and church at the heart of our community.
Fr John Caster, our Parish Priest, leads weekly worship and regular school Mass services in St Barnabas’ Church, as well as contributing to the teaching and learning of RE.

We're sure that many of you will have seen the pool on the bottom playground this week which is being filled and made ready for the swimming to begin from Monday. Swimming timetables have been emailed out, along with details of what the children need and a Q&A for parents. Last year, the children were asked what they thought about the swimming and the response was incredibly positive! Here are some of the comments: "I liked how they helped me put my face in the underwater which is something I didn't like to do before" "I liked the way they taught me swimming skills" "The teacher helped me a lot" "I like the teachers and I liked how everyone always had something to do" "We learned new stuff everyday!" "They were really funny and it was great after learning to have some fun" "Swimming in the pool was really exciting!" "I like the fact that we got to swim in such small groups" "The temperature of the water was perfect!" "I like both of the teachers. They are great at teaching swimming." "The teachers always show me what to do." "I love learning not to drown. I have learned to float." "I love how the teachers explain how to swim. The changing rooms give everyone privacy."
