Term 4, week 6:
Term 4 Week 6 – overview
Spelling and grammar –we will be revising the spellings we have learnt this term.
In English, we will be continuing work on an information text on the water cycle. This will link our learning in both science and English. We will be learning about the water cycle itself and writing and illustrating our information text.
In Maths, we will be adding fractions, adding fractions and mixed numbers, subtracting fractions, subtracting fractions from a whole and subtracting from mixed numbers. This will end our unit on fractions.
In Science, we will be investigating the question, ‘does gas have a weight?’ This will involve weighing fizzy drinks before opening them and again after we have let out their ‘fizz’.
In RE, we will be learning about Peter’s denial of Jesus. We will be looking at a wide range of images representing this event on Maundy Thursday and into Good Friday when the cockerel crowed.
PE is on Monday morning with Mrs Barter and on Thursday afternoon with Mrs Tompsett. This term we are going to be focusing on fundamental skills and net games in tennis.
Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
