Term 6 Week 5
Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 5:
Term 6 Week 5 – overview
PE will be on Monday and Tuesday this week.
Reading challenge – we have made a visual display to track our home reading. Each week when reading records are checked, every child who brings their record (completed with their weekly reading)will earn a star. Remember that 10 minutes’ of reading each day makes a huge difference to overall literacy and especially expanding vocabulary!
Our ukulele lesson will take place on Tuesday morning with Mr Lawrence.
Spelling and grammar –we will be revising words from the Year 3 and 4 statutory list.
We are now using English lessons to learn lines and rehearse for our show: Peter Pan. Thank you for your support in helping your child learn lines and song words. This week we will spend all day on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday rehearsing. Members of the team from The Trinity will be joining us on Thursday and Friday.
In Maths, we are continuing our unit on decimals. We will be dividing a 2 digit number by 10 and learning about hundredths as fractions and decimals.
In RE, we continue our unit on the Hindu religion by learning about the festival of Raksha Bandan and how it is celebrated.
Reading records have been sent home with most children choosing a book from the selection in class or from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
Homework will be issued this Wednesday and is due in on the following Monday.
