Term 2, week 3
Another reminder! - the children are designing and making their own unique Christmas/winter decorations. They should be asking for cardboard boxes and other recycled materials! Thank you to those parents and carers who have already sent items in, and please support your child with resources if possible. We would also be grateful for any donations of masking tape or double-sided tape, if you have any to spare at home.
In English this week, we will be using the Stone Aged themed text to continue investigating figurative language and free verse poetry.
Our Whole Class Reading this week we will be using our ‘Little People, Big Dreams’ advent calendar, to investigate some inspiring people from around the world. We will be discussing each mini-book, looking at vocabulary and answering comprehension questions.
In Maths, we are continuing the Addition and Subtraction unit, focusing on adding d spotting patterns, adding 1s across 10 and adding 10s across 100s.
In Science, we will continue the nutrition and diet unit, specifically considering how we can follow a balanced diet.
In Design Technology, we will continue making our Christmas/winter light decorations.
PE is on a Monday and Friday this term, and we will continue hockey this week. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school.
If you have any questions, at any point in the year, please email the class email: maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk. For any urgent messages, please email the main office email.
Kind regards
Mrs Smallcombe and the Maple Team
