Term 1 Week 4

Our learning from week 4

In Phonics this week, the children have been listening to games. In our learning we have continued listening for initial sounds and blending cvc words that have been segmented. In Maths, we have been counting to 5 using objects, actions and sounds. We have also been talking about 'sets' and having to find the same set as a grown up.

We have begun thinking about ourselves, our families, our hobbies and how we are all different. This week we also looked at the senses and explored 'touch' this week. We have continued with our continuous provision.

We visited the library this week and chose a book to take home and share with parents/carers. This book can remain with the children until Thursday, where it will then be swapped for another if it is brought back in.

This week's start of the week is Zach for an amazing improvement in confidence by coming to school and joining in with lessons. Zach will therefore be taking Wilfred the class elephant home and have the opportunity to write a few sentences about what Wilfred has done with him for the week. Please remember to return him no later than Thursday for the next child to take home!

Please continue to send your child in with their full PE kits and jumpers on Wednesday's and Friday's. Please remember to send your child in with a spare set of clothes if they do not already have them at school.

Home learning: Over the next few weeks we will be looking at ourselves and our families. We will be talking about how they are the same and how they are different. We will also be looking at how much we have grown since we were babies. Please could you send in or email two photos-one of your child as a baby and one of your child with its family. Please share these photos with your child and begin to talk about changes from a baby to a child and also ensure they know the people in their family photo.
