Term 2 Week 5– overview
This Tuesday we are going on a trip to Tablehurst Farm! It will be wonderful to experience a day at a biodynamic, organic farm.
Each week we are fortunate to have a ukulele lesson with Mr Lawrence. This year, this will take place on a Monday afternoon. Instruments are provided by the school.
Spelling and grammar –we will be adding suffixes beginning with vowel letters to words of more than one syllable. We will also look at using fronted adverbials.
In English, we will be practising using imperative verbs and doing research on how Roman roads were built, in order to create our own set of instructions.
In Maths, we will continue our unit on multiplication and division. We will be looking at multiplying and dividing by 3, 6 and 9. We will also move onto the 7 times tables. Please keep practising times tables at home!
In RE, we will continue our unit on Incarnation, by asking the question, ‘what is the Trinity?’ We will be interviewing Father John on what the Trinity and incarnation mean to him.
In History, we are going to be finding out about what life was like in Britain when the Romans settled.
In Computing, the pupils will be looking at sound recording and editing.
PE is on Monday morning with Mrs Barter and on a Thursday afternoon with Mrs Tompsett. This term we are going to be focusing on hockey and yoga.
Reading records will be sent home, with free-reading children choosing a book from the selection in class or bringing one from the reading scheme. All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class. Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
