In English and Communication this week, we are going to begin to look at recount writing. We will start by analysing a piece of recount writing that Mr M wrote. Next, we will begin to plan our own piece of recount writing. We will use pictures from the trip to Tonbridge Castle to help plan sections of the recount. Next, we will create subheadings for each section. Finally, we will generate key vocabulary and phrases that will help us to write our recount. 

In Phonics, we are going to focus on adding -ment and -ness suffixes to root words. Our grammar focus will be to improve sentences using verbs and adverbs. 

In Maths, we will finish learning about fractions. We will focus on the equivalence between 1/2 and 2/4. We will also focus on counting in fractions to 1 whole. Next, we will turn our attention back to place value, addition and subtraction and revisit some of the basic arithmetic skills we learnt earlier in the year.  

In Science and Computing, we will focus on food chains and interdependence in habitats. 

In Time and Place we will explore the human and physical features in the area surrounding the school. 

We will also complete Guided Reading, Masths Mastery, PHSCE, RE, PE and Design and the Arts activities as well.
