This Week's Learning
Term 1 Week 2
In English and Communication this week, we are going to use The Great Fire of London by Emma Adams to find out information relating to our main enquiry question: 'What was it like to live in London in 1666?' Next we will use the book, Toby and the Great Fire of London as inspiration for a descriptive piece of writing which describes the fire.
In Phonics, we will continue to revisit the Level 3 sounds and tricky words we learnt in Yr1. In guided reading, we will read Toby and the Great Fire of London and use it as a stimulus for Vocabulary, Inference, Prediction, Explanation and Sequencing questions.
In Science and Computing, we will explore the uses of Information Technology in the wider world.
In Time and Place, we will use a Timeline, a Walking Timeline and 'A Street Through Time' resources to chronologically orientate the year 1666.
In PE, we will continue to explore ball skills and invasion games.
We will also complete Mastering Number, and Design and the Arts activities as well. If you have any questions about any of these activities, please do not hesitate to contact us using the class email address: beech@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk
